Adding a Hidden Field In Gravity Forms

Have more questions? Submit a request

To link LeanData's routing and scheduling process to the leads or contacts created through your Gravity Form, you'll need to add a hidden field to your form using the steps below. This hidden field stores the BookIt Log ID that will later be passed to the Salesforce record via your marketing automation platform.

Step 1: Add a Field to Your Form

In your Gravity Forms form builder, select and insert a Single Line Text element to your form.

Step 2: Add a Label to Your Field

Add a label to the hidden field. We recommend using ld_bookit_log_id, but since this label may appear in form entries or your marketing automation platform, you’re welcome to choose a different name. Just be sure to make note of it—you’ll need this exact label in a later step.

Step 3: Set the Field to Hidden

Next, go to the Advanced tab in the field settings and set the field’s Visibility to Hidden to ensure it doesn’t appear to users filling out the form.

⚠️ Important:   Do not use Gravity Forms’ prebuilt Hidden field under Standard Fields. That field lacks the functionality LeanData’s script requires to locate and populate the Log ID. Instead, use a Single Line Text field and manually set its Visibility to Hidden as shown above.

⚠️ Reminder: Be sure to connect this hidden field to your marketing automation or CRM process to ensure the value is stored on the SFDC lead/contact record when the form is submitted.
