Adding a Hidden Field In Gravity Forms

To link LeanData's routing and scheduling process to the leads/contacts created through your form, you’ll need to add a hidden field to your form following the steps below. This field will store the log id that should eventually be placed on your lead or contact record in Salesforce through your marketing automation.

In your Gravity Forms form builder, select and insert a “Single Line Text” element to your form.

Add a label to your hidden field. We recommend calling this “ld_bookit_log_id” but since this label name will show up in your entries and possibly in your marketing automation, you can label it whatever you’d like. Just be sure to make note of this label name as you will be needing it in a later step.

Also be sure to mark this field’s visibility as hidden in the “Advanced” section of the “Field Settings” to make sure this field is not visible to users on your form.

Important: Gravity Forms does have a prebuilt “Hidden” field under “Standard Fields” but using that here will not work. It is missing some functionality that allows LeanData's snippet code to locate it and insert the log id into it. Unfortunately, you will need to use a “Single Line Text” field and set its visibility to hidden as shown above.

Important: make sure to connect the hidden field with your marketing automation or other lead/contact creation process to store the value in this field in your lead/contact upon form submission.
