How Do I Export and Import My FlowBuilder Graphs?

Many customers work and test in a Sandbox (Salesforce Dev Account) before making changes to their production account. Using the Export and Import feature, you can build and test your FlowBuilder routing in a sandbox and then when its ready, export from the sandbox and import it into production.

Example: Anne is the Salesforce admin for her company Lighthouse Apps. She has been tasked with making some changes and updates to their Lead Router graph. To protect the production Salesforce instance from mistakes, she decides to build and test her changes in a free dev account from Salesforce. After creating the dev account, she adds data to it from their production account. She can export the current graph from production and import it into the dev account or she can build a new graph from scratch. When she has finished her new graph in sandbox she can then export it and import it into production and deploy it.

To Export a Graph:

1. Open the LeanData application in Salesforce.
2. On the side menu, click on Routing to expand the menu.
3. Click on Leads (or Contacts, Accounts, or Opportunities as needed).
4. Click on FlowBuilder. The FlowBuilder page will be displayed with an icon image for each of your saved graph.
5. Click on the desired graph to select it.

6. On the right side of the graph icon, click on the Export Button (A square with an arrow in the upper right corner). This will begin the download of a file that contains the JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) text of the graph. The export will create a text (.txt) file on your computer.

Please Note: Do not edit this file or change the text. If there are any changes the graph will not work on import.

To Import a Graph:

1. Open the LeanData application in your target Salesforce instance.
2. On the side menu, click on Routing to expand the menu.
3. Click on Leads (or Contacts, Accounts, or Opportunities as needed).
4. Click on FlowBuilder. The FlowBuilder page will be displayed with an icon image for each of your saved graph.
5. Click on Import Graph in the upper right corner of the FlowBuilder page.
6. In the dialog window that opens, find the exported graph and select it. The import will begin. When the import is complete you will see the new graph as an icon on your FlowBuilder page.

Please Note: You should test your imported graph before deploying it. Often during testing, your graph can point to data or users that might not exist in your production instance.
