Overview
When uploading a CSV file defining your Territories under Routing > Territory Management, errors may occur. If so, an error message will appear explaining the reason. This document outlines what each of those error message means.
Error Message Guide
The error message details are displayed in the first column, and the following number indicates how many rows were affected by that specific error.
Number of rows with PostalCode populated but missing Country: Territory CSV or configuration contains rows where the PostalCode field is filled in, but the Country field is empty. Every row with a PostalCode must also have a Country specified.
Number of rows with City or State populated but missing Country (or State/Country for US): Territory CSV or configuration has rows where the City or State fields are filled in, but the Country field is empty. For US addresses, both State and Country must be present.
Number of rows with missing data: Territory CSV or configuration has rows where required fields (such as Country, State, Owner, or Round Robin Pool) are empty.
Number of rows with invalid/inactive owners or invalid round robin names: Territory CSV or configuration includes:
- Owners who are inactive or do not exist in Salesforce.
- Round Robin pool names that are misspelled, deleted, or do not exist.
The invalid owners' information will be available in the row "Invalid Owners". Use this data to search for the row with this value in the territory file.
Number of rows with duplicate date: This indicates that your territory CSV upload contains multiple rows with the same criteria (such as Country, State, City, Postal Code, or Custom Field), causing duplicates. The row "Duplicate Row Pairs" indicates the row of the duplicates. For example, rows 3 and 5 have the same data.
Number of rows with pools in other BU: Territory configuration references Round Robin pools that belong to a different Business Unit (BU) than the one you are currently working in. Each pool must be associated with the same BU as the territory segment.
Pools not in Territory Business Unit: This indicates that the Round Robin Pools referenced in the Round Robin Pools referenced in the territory CSV are not associated with the correct Business Unit in LeanData.
