Why Can’t LeanData Trigger Off of Formula Fields?
LeanData’s Routing tools include many options for triggering a record to be processed by a router flow. You can configure these options on the New Entry Node in FlowBuilder. LeanData cannot trigger off of formula fields due to the way that information is stored in the field by Salesforce. The formula generates a value but that value is not actually stored in the field and is not presented in a way that LeanData can successfully trigger off of these fields. While they are selectable options in FlowBuilder, the triggers will not work as intended.
If you’d like to trigger off of a formula field, the recommended best practice is to create a custom text field that stamps and copies the formula field value. LeanData can then reference the custom text field to successfully trigger as expected.
