How to Export and Import Territories

As you use LeanData to manage your territories, it may be necessary to export your territories, edit the CSV (Comma Separated Value) file outside of LeanData, and then re-import the changed file. 

  

Example: Hillary is the LeanData admin for LightHouse Development. Her company is growing rapidly and needs to reorganize and expand their territories to account for their growth. LeanData has options for editing the territories in the app but when you need to make a large number of changes we recommend editing the file in a spreadsheet. Hillary exports the data into a CSV file. Then she opens the file in her spreadsheet program and edits it as needed. The final step is to re-import the file back into LeanData.

 

Within your Salesforce instance, navigate to the LeanData instance. On the side navigation, click on Routing and then Territory Management to access all the available Territory segments within your instance.

 

Hover over the segment you would like to export. Click the dropdown on the right. Click on export. A CSV file will be downloaded upon export completion. Edit as needed.

 

 

Edit the file as needed.

 

To import the segment, hover over the segment you exported, click the dropdown on the right. Click on Replace and upload the changed file.
